Start the new year with less fear!

Hey guys we are breaking down the fear and anxiety that may keep us from reaching our health and fitness goals, and ways that we can overcome them in order to become the best version of ourselves.

Here are some of the culprits that keep us from moving forward in our health journey.

Social comparison – the never ending comparison of yourself to super fit people. This can make you feel even worse about yourself.

Feeling judged – if you think people are watching and judging, you’re likely to get anxious. Everyone that joins our committee is about supporting one either.

Feeling like you don’t belong – no one likes being left out of the group. Feeling like you don’t belong makes you less likely to come back.

Being indecisive – not sure on what to do, how to do it, where to start, or what results you’ll get.

So the big question is: How do you stop feeling anxious when working out around others?

* Become familiar with basics exercise movements before workout around others. Better yet, get a good trainer to help you out and tell you exactly what to do to get the results you’re looking for. Getstronghf.com

* Focus on what you are doing instead of other people. Do this by paying attention to specific cues during each exercise.

* Reassure yourself, with sticky notes. Out-logic your cognitive thinking with positive thoughts.

* Show up. The more you show up and learn about fitness, the more comfortable you’ll be working out.

Change doesn’t happen overnight. But by understanding the root of what’s causing your fear of working out around others, you can turn your uncomfortable training experience into one you enjoy.
